Adoption Days!

New Spirit’s Minnesota chapter will be holding it’s first adoption day event on August 28th, 2010 in Rochester, MN at Rochester Feed store.  Come visit us at the booth and meet an Aussie or two! 
Pamplets and available dog flyers will be available, as well as volunteers who will be standing by to answer any questions you may have about our rescue or Aussies in general!

Molly ~ Adopted!

Molly Meyham found her forever family last night.  She will be entertaining 4 cats and a bird!  She will be enrolled in obedience and you may later see her on the agility field!  Congratulations, John & Susan!

3 More Days

TommyBoy has 3 days left until his cone and cast can come off!  Wahoo!

He is really hanging in there. He’s not been showing any signs of being in pain and is beginning to tolerate his mandatory crate time if we play some crate games everyday.  This shoudler sutures will come out today.

Tommy Broke His Leg!

Our precious boy Tommy broke his humerous bone on the growth plate this morning. We are devestated, and poor Tommy is in pain.  He is scheduled for surgery to try and repair the break on July 1st, 2010. 

A Chipin Donation account has been set up to help us try and cover the cost of this surgery, which could reach up to $2,200 by the time we’re finished!  Please donate if you can spare some change.  This baby boy deserves a bright and painfree future!

Rescues Make Great Sport Dogs!

If you’re searching for your next performance dog, look no further than your nearest Australian Shepherd rescue or shelter!  As an avid dog sport goer and competitor myself, I have seen the talent that can be found in rescues and shelters.  Don’t get a puppy from a breeder and not have a clue as to what they will grow up to be.  Adopt an adolescent or adult who already shows the potential for skills you’re looking for in your next performance dog!

Foster Homes Needed!

New Spirit in Minnesota is still looking for fabulous foster homes to house our precious Aussies while they await their forever homes!  If you would like to offer your home temporarily to an Aussie, please fill out the Volunteer Form!

Boone

New Spirit Minnesota recieved it’s first official foster Aussie yesterday!  Boone is a black tri boy who came into a shelter along with his 4 siblings.  He’s 5 months old and very shy at this point.  But he really is a snuggle bug and will be a velcro dog to the fullest! 

Thank you to everybody who helped us get him moved here to Minnesota!

Aussie Minnesota

This site officially kicks off New Spirit’s new branch, located in Minnesota.  We’re still in the baby stages of getting ourselves up and running, but we’re full of vinegar and ready to save some Aussies!  As new volunteers pop up around the area and more Aussies show up, we’ll be adding more.  Much much more.  In the meantime, if you’re interested in volunteering with our organization, please hit the volunteer page and fill out the form!
